Jimmy Kimmel Interviews Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live on February 2, 2010. Two of the head writers of the show discuss the premiere of season 6 and what is to come for the final season. (Make sure to see videos part 1 & part 2 – both on this page)

Jimmy Kimmel asks if the following things are coincidence or not. Don’t take any of these answers into considerations for theories &  whatnot, Damon & Carlton like to mess with us and are pretty silly in interviews.

Desmond disappears when Charlie is seen on the plane: coincidence.
Michael & Walt are not on the plane: fate
Shannon was not on the plane: not a coincidence
The season premiere was on groundhogs day & in the premiere, events are happening over again but differently: absolutely planned… ah, no. coincidence.
The space between the A & X in the premiere’s title, “LA X”: absolutely planned
The meal on the plane was lasagna: it was a vegetarian lasagna
Season 1 – Jack was calm, Rose was nervous. Season 6 – Jack was nervous, Rose was calm: not a coincidence. completely intentional.
Jack spills his vodka while pouring his drink: not a coincidence… and he has one less bottle this time (as compared to season 1 pilot)
Hurley picks up a book by Kierkegaard (Fear and Trembling): intentional, they pick the books. the books have themes that tie into the themes of the show.

They discuss the Lost Art Show (these Lost-inspired works of art are amazing! You can purchase some on this website) Carlton Cuse bought Martin Wittfooth’s ”Lost” oil on canvas (20 x 20 inches, framed for $2,400.00).

We will see much more of the numbers coming up soon.

They discuss ending the show on their own terms. Announcement: the finale will be May 23, 2010. Start planning your Lost Finale Party now!!

This originally aired on February 2, 2010 on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live with special interview with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
