What is the meaning of the Lost premiere title, “LA X”?
Posted in Theories
Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse on February 2, 2010 after the Lost premiere. The Lost writer duo, often referred to as “darlton” confirmed that the space between the “A” and “X” in the double-episode collective title, “LA X”, was indeed intentional.
Who would have thought that even a space in a word would cause so much discussion??
In the week following the premiere episode, there have been many theories on this episode’s title alone. Here are some of them:
- a typo? (probably not, but darlton joked about this)
- a reference to LA’s airport, obviously, but perhaps the space infers that normal is just a little bit off
- a reference to the sideways flashes… the “X” is off to the side
- missing letter/letters
- the roman numeral X (ten)
- a variable in an equation
What do you think the space means?
